Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how Hookspotter (a NuVox product, operated by Byron Brown / NuVox LLC) collects, uses, and shares information when you use the service at hookspotter.app.
What we collect
- Account info — email address, optionally a display name and avatar, captured at signup via Supabase.
- Audio uploads — songs you upload for analysis, stored on Cloudflare R2.
- Usage — number of songs analyzed per month, used to enforce plan limits.
- Payment info — handled entirely by Stripe. We never see card numbers; we store only the Stripe customer / subscription identifiers.
- Diagnostics — error reports captured by Sentry. These do not include audio content; only stack traces and request metadata.
How we use it
- To run the song-analysis pipeline that produces your snippets and captions.
- To send you transactional email (sign-in links, analysis-complete notifications) via Resend.
- To enforce free-tier limits and bill paid plans.
- To diagnose and fix bugs.
Third parties we share with
We pass the minimum data needed to each of these processors. None of them resell your data.
- Supabase — auth + Postgres database
- Cloudflare R2 — audio + rendered video storage
- Stripe — payments + subscriptions
- Resend — transactional email
- Anthropic — Claude API for HookRanker / Caption / Lyric scoring
- AssemblyAI — vocal transcription
- Vercel — Next.js hosting
- Inngest — background-job orchestration
- Railway — Python audio worker hosting
- Sentry — error monitoring
What we do NOT do
- We do not sell your data. Ever.
- We do not use your audio to train AI models.
- We do not retain your audio longer than needed to run the analysis. Source uploads remain in R2 only as long as the song row exists in your account.
- We do not share your audio with anyone other than the processors listed above.
Your rights
You can:
- Export your account data on request.
- Delete your account, which removes all associated audio and metadata.
- Opt out of marketing email at any time (transactional sends remain).
If you're in the EU/UK or California, you have additional rights under GDPR / CCPA. We will respond to verified requests within 30 days.
